The inauguration of the Central Executive Board of the Indonesian Association of Private Higher Education Institutions (APTISI) for the 2025–2030 period took place in a lively yet solemn atmosphere, held alongside the National Higher Education Forum with the theme “The Direction of Higher Education Toward Golden Indonesia 2045.” The event, held on 17–18 November 2025 at the Krakatau Ballroom, TMII Jakarta, was attended by approximately 1,350 private university leaders from across Indonesia.
The Committee Chair, Dr. Po. Abas Sunarya, M.Si., opened the event by stating that this moment serves as a significant milestone in unifying the vision of higher education in Indonesia.
In his remarks, the Chairman of APTISI Central, Dr. Budi Djatmiko, emphasized the importance of improving the quality of lecturers, strengthening higher education governance, and accelerating digital transformation through synergy and collaboration at the national level.
According to Dr. Budi, several strategic programs were introduced, including:
– The Higher Education Leadership School to strengthen leadership capacity in private universities
– A Grant Program for Higher Education Management Information Systems to accelerate governance digitalization
– Strengthening cross-regional collaboration to fast-track quality improvements in private higher education nationwide
On this occasion, the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Bryan, stressed that the acceleration of national development and the improvement of public welfare are heavily dependent on the quality of higher education. He urged universities to remain innovative, adaptive, and responsive to industry needs and global demands.
UNIPI Rector, Prof. Francisca Sestri, who attended as a participant, expressed her appreciation for the inauguration of APTISI’s new executive board. She stated that APTISI is a vital element of the pentahelix ecosystem that must be strengthened to serve as a platform for addressing the challenges faced by its members in collaboration with the Government, Business Sector, Society, and Media. “APTISI plays a strategic role in strengthening the higher education ecosystem. We hope the association’s role and aspirations will be more recognized by the central government in realizing Golden Indonesia 2045,” said Prof. Sestri.
Also accompanying her was Dr. Winanti, S.Kom., M.M., M.Kom., Vice Rector II of UNIPI and a board member of APTISI Banten Region. Dr. Winanti discussed plans regarding an MoU between UNIPI and universities in Makassar, as well as coordination for strategic partnerships with APTISI Central in academic development and capacity building for lecturers.
“Cross-regional collaboration and networking are essential to accelerate the improvement of higher education quality. UNIPI is ready to contribute and expand cooperation through APTISI,” said Dr. Winanti.
UNIPI’s participation in this national forum also brought valuable moments for leaders of professional associations across various industries. UNIPI Rector, Prof. Francisca Sestri, and Prof. Dewi Motik Pramono, who both serve as Advisory Board Members of PERPINA, had the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas regarding strengthening PERPINA’s role and exploring collaboration opportunities that could bring broader impact to the development of higher education and professional fields in Indonesia.
