UNIPI Tangerang Rector Celebrates the 2nd National Kebaya Day with the Chairperson of PERPINA

The first Kebaya Congress in 2021 by the Indonesian Women in Kebaya Organization (PBI), where Francisca Sestri was one of the speakers, discussed "The Role of Women in Strengthening the Kebaya Economy in Indonesia," and successfully encouraged the establishment of National Kebaya Day on July 24, she recalled.

On this occasion, the Rector of UNIPI Tangerang, together with the Indonesian Women Leaders Community (PERPINA), where Francisca also serves as a member of the Expert Council (Education), celebrated the 2nd National Kebaya Day 2025 wearing Kebaya from the Batik Chic collection in Kemang, South Jakarta.

According to the Rector, "The Kebaya is a heritage of our ancestors that must be preserved in harmony with the dynamics of the younger generation without abandoning Indonesian culture."

The initiator of the event, PERPINA Chairperson Veve Safitri, who is actively involved in professional women’s movements both nationally and internationally, said, "The Kebaya is not merely attire, but the identity of cultured and graceful Indonesian women."
